Finding the right carpet cleaner for your home, business, or apartment is a very important decision that will have a lasting impact on you and your family for generations to come! Here are some helpful pointers that you can use while shopping around for the best deal:

What Questions Should I Ask?1. How Do You Pay Your Employees? This is probably the most important question you can ask. Let's face it there are method questions, guarantee questions, equipment questions, etc. The bottom line is how long is the Carpet Cleaning Technician going to spend cleaning your carpets. If the technician is paid by commission, by volumn or a percentage of the gross, guess what, they are going to spend as little time as possible cleaning your carpets so that they can get to the next job. When you are paid by volume, commission or percentage time is your enemy not your friend. Conversly, when a technician is paid by the hour, it really doesn't benefit him to go too fast because he doesn't get as much compensation as if he took his time and did a thorough job. 2. What is your guarantee? A good one should read something like this, "If after the carpet is dry there is anything that you are unhappy with, call us. We will come back out ASAP and make it right. If after that you feel we didn't do the job you expected just let us know and we will immediately refund your money". Most companies will try and give you a 5 day or 7 day promise, but the reality is that it can take 2 or 3 weeks for a spot to return. The company should be willing to come back and reclean if they said that you should expect that spot to disappear. Also make sure that you can get the guarantee in writing. 3. Are you insured and bonded? & Can I get a certificate of insurance from your insurance co.? Some states even require licensing, others don't so that could be a third part to the question, but minimum you want to make sure that if something happens such as damage or breakage, you are covered. Make sure that cleaning issues are covered. Some insurers will only cover damage or breakage done such as scratches to furniture or broken lamps or pictures. They do not cover damage done due to inferior cleaning techniques such as over wetting or damage done to upholstry due to over-wetting or bleeding caused by the cleaning process. It's obviously best to ask!! 4. Are your Cleaning Technicans employees or subcontractors? This is important because of question 3. If a company uses subcontractors rather than employees the company you are talking to could be totally insured, but it is up to the individual subcontractor to supply their own insurance and are responsible for all problems.
